Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong



Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, embark on a scenic drive to Shillong (approximately 3-4 hours). En route, if time permits, visit the Kamakhya Temple, one of India’s most revered Shakti Peethas. Upon reaching Shillong, check in at your hotel and unwind. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through Shillong’s vibrant streets, savor local cuisine, or explore nearby attractions.

Day 2: Shillong Sightseeing




 After breakfast, set out to explore the highlights of Shillong:  Elephant Falls – A stunning three-tiered waterfall set amidst lush greenery.  Umiam Lake (Barapani) – A serene reservoir where you can enjoy boating or a scenic lakeside walk.  Shillong Peak (optional) – The highest point in Shillong, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Spend the evening shopping at Police Bazaar, a bustling market ideal for picking up souvenirs and local handicrafts.

Day 3: Shillong to Cherrapunjee 




After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (Sohra), renowned as one of the wettest places on Earth (2-3 hours drive).  Double Decker Living Root Bridge (Nongriat) – A marvel of natural bioengineering, accessible via a trek through the scenic forests of Tyrna. Scenic Village Walk (Optional) – Trek through the picturesque villages of Tyrna and Nongriat, experiencing rural Khasi life. Check in at your hotel in Cherrapunjee and relax amidst the tranquil hills.

Day 4: Exploring Cherrapunjee 



After breakfast, explore Cherrapunjee’s iconic attractions:  Seven Sisters Waterfalls – A majestic cascade symbolizing the unity of Northeast India's seven states.  Mawsmai Cave – A fascinating limestone cave known for its intricate rock formations.  Nohkalikai Falls – One of India’s highest waterfalls, plunging from a height of 1,115 feet. Dainthlen Falls & Wei Sawdong Falls (Optional) – Lesser-known yet mesmerizing waterfalls offering picturesque landscapes. In the evening, relish a traditional Meghalayan dinner and immerse yourself in local Khasi culture.

Day 5: Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Shillong




After breakfast, depart for Mawlynnong (2-3 hours drive), often dubbed "Asia’s Cleanest Village."  Mawlynnong Village – Walk through its spotless lanes and admire the community’s dedication to cleanliness.  Balanced Rock – A fascinating natural formation where a huge boulder rests on a smaller rock.  Sky Walk & Living Root Bridge – Enjoy breathtaking views from a bamboo skywalk and visit a single-root bridge. In the evening, return to Shillong and relax.

Day 6: Shillong to Guwahati – Departure




After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning in Shillong with some last-minute souvenir shopping at local markets. Later, transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of Meghalaya’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture.
